Royalty Check, Reality Check

This was an exciting week for me: My first royalty check! You know, for words I constructed out of the fantastic corners of my mind, to be published as Dust to Blood. Don’t get me wrong, any payday is a good payday–especially when you’ve just been paid to imagine something into existence. But… I’m a Royalty Check, Reality Check

ROW80 Check-in: Distraction

My day was hijacked in the worst possible way this morning, with the news that yet another psycho had gone on a shooting rampage–about 20 minutes from where I live. I worried about friends and colleagues who are Sikh, who might have been there, since it was to have been a day of special celebration. ROW80 Check-in: Distraction

Plot Bunnies and Story Prompts

I received my edited manuscript this morning in the wee hours. I have a lot of work to do. As my editor said: “You’ve fallen into some bad habits…” Ominous words for an impending deadline. The good news is, she likes the plot, the characters, and the ending, so the rest is just editing my Plot Bunnies and Story Prompts

Character Interview: Discord Jones

I was amazed at the number of people who were interested in the character interview I did for WLC this weekend, so was talking with my favorite publisher, author Gayla Drummond, about it. Since we were in the mood and having fun with IM, I asked if I could interview her character, Discord Jones, of Character Interview: Discord Jones

ROW80 Check-in: Progress

It’s been another busy week. I’m still not sticking with the number of #wordmongering sprints per week I had optimistically set for myself, but even if I continue at only 1,000 words on Blood to Fire per week for the remainder of this round, I’ll be halfway through my manuscript by September, and should be ROW80 Check-in: Progress

Cover Reveal: Dementional

It’s that time in the book production process that I once again had my day hijacked in the best possible way: Gayla (@scath) hit another homer with this beautiful cover for my latest book. Dementional is slated for release 8/23, so is currently in the middle of the editing process… and I’m trying to be Cover Reveal: Dementional

Book Review: Dark Dates

Tracey contacted me via this blog to request a review and her blurb so captured my attention I had to check out her blog. When I saw the whole “Body of a Geek Goddess” moniker, I had to interview her, too. Of course, now it’s been a few weeks and I’ve been dawdling about actually Book Review: Dark Dates

ROW80 Check-in: Busy Week

It’s been one of those weeks: Where you’re crazy-productive, and feel like you’re still at the bottom of the mountain of work you need to climb. And my mom left Saturday night for her latest tour of duty in Iraq. I’m already quite far from my family (mostly, they live in Virginia, 800 miles away). ROW80 Check-in: Busy Week

Book Review: Fey Lights

Because I follow @lianabrooks on Twitter, I had seen her cover development efforts for Fey Lights and happened to catch her request for ARC readers. Since I enjoyed Even Villains Fall in Love and her blog, I signed up. The title caught my eye, and I wondered whether she was going to do something with Book Review: Fey Lights

Author Interview: Tracey Sinclair

This author interview comes to you on my birthday, as a way of me being lazy, not having to actually blog on my day of being me-centric. 😉 Tracey found me and left a review request that pushed all the right buttons for me, so expect to see that coming soon as well.
