Happy Birthday to Me

This weekend was another birthday for me. I’ve had enough of them that it feels a little silly to celebrate–especially when we’re facing some tough circumstances. But I decided that even though I’m back in a cycle of having papers due every Sunday night and more than enough work for several people, I would enjoy Happy Birthday to Me

Staggering Into Another Round

The second round of ROW80 has thus begun… just in time for my next class to kick off tomorrow. I’m doing it in style too: I discovered after my professor emailed a welcome that I had been idiot enough to re-purchase the textbook from last session when my eyes crossed at an inopportune moment and Staggering Into Another Round

Friends in New Places

As you may or may not remember, a few weeks back I made the trek down to Chicago for the annual Printer’s Row Lit Fest… for a very good reason. My online friend, Justin Bog (remember when he stopped by this blog last year for an interview?), was going to be in town to speak Friends in New Places

Second Edition Fever

It’s been an interesting week, and since I like the Sunday check-in habit whether I’m in the midst of a ROW80 round or not, I’m going to share some of my recent facepalm moments. After six months of chasing my own tail, finally finding a contact point, and hearing nothing… I officially received a contract Second Edition Fever

Not Resting on My Laurels

I completed another class. And another story. With one of the worst head colds I’ve ever had. Sometimes I surprise myself with my tenacity. So the Gandhi quote I found rather randomly online recently is feeling very close to my surface reality today. In fact, I was worried I was so fogged in over the Not Resting on My Laurels

Eyes on the Prize

It hit me this week: I’m already almost 1/3 of the way done with my MBA. I have one more week of assignments to complete for this class, and I get my first real break since Christmas. It’s done some to add to my giddiness, but my real happiness comes from being very close to Eyes on the Prize

Piled Higher and Deeper

This week I got the critique back on my novelette, Wytchfire, and felt so stoked for the story, my happiness might have overflowed… My online friend Ciara Ballintyne sent out a call that Club Fantasci was looking for another reviewer. Since my editor, Dionne Lister, and the first person to review my first book, MJ Piled Higher and Deeper

Mid-Term, Again

I’m halfway through the first session of this semester, which means another major assignment. Twelve pages, to be exact, on the nature of interactive and strategic marketing. Since I live this stuff at work, I figured it’d be easy enough. And, to a degree, it was… it’s the correlation with scholarly sources and combing said Mid-Term, Again

What I Need to Know

Once again I’m to the point in my current class that I’d really rather do anything but the assignment in front of me. I’m glad I’ve learned not to rant all day about it, but waiting until the end of the day to produce my required pages is really getting old. I may have had What I Need to Know

Beginning Again

I’m jumping in to this round of ROW80 a month late, because I finally decided to participate in the A-Z Challenge–and really didn’t want to post something to my blog seven days a week. Surprisingly enough… I completed that challenge, and therefore the first goal I had for this round. 🙂 My second goal is, Beginning Again
