believe-in-magic-dahlI’ve been pushing all weekend, but I have to concede… I once again missed the mark on what I could achieve this week. However, I have completed the first editorial pass on what I’ve written, as well as incorporated another critique of the first few chapters of Blood to Fire. All that remains is writing the last chapter.

Once again, with this book, I’m finding magic in unexpected places, as my characters grow in ways they never would have expected, and ways that make me feel like a story-telling genius.

We’ll see whether that holds up in the final phase of critiques and editing.

😀

In the meantime, part of what took up my time this weekend was celebrating my 15th wedding anniversary. I’ve seen the truism around that falling in love is easy, while staying in love is special. I have to agree. In fact, I was surprised to find a quote from Anne Landers that is quite apropos: “Love is friendship that has caught fire. It is quiet understanding, mutual confidence, sharing and forgiving. It is loyalty through good and bad times. It settles for less than perfection and makes allowances for human weaknesses.”

Given the focus book 2 has taken on the nature and development of relationships, and some of the research I’ve found to support how healthy ones form and continue, it seems only meet that my FMC should learn these things for herself. It’s making me all gooey as the story comes to its resolution, and I hope any urban fantasy fans who started reading Dust to Blood forgive my foray into more paranormal romance territory.

Oh. And, I did manage to keep up with schoolwork this week again too. So, not an unproductive week, at all.

🙂

In the meantime, feel free to visit the list of the other ROW80 participants to see whether they managed everything they planned.
