I had a hard time settling on just one H letter for this, my eighth contribution to the A to Z Blogging challenge. In Dust to Blood, the heroes wander many hallways, have many heart-to-heart conversations, and develop unusual hearing. Plus, there are some interesting Russian words that begin with H. However, ultimately, the path to save a race of magical beings is a hero’s journey.
I like most that my heroes in this book are bookish people. They don’t consider themselves brave so much as curious. And they really are mostly motivated by friendship and the desire to right an old wrong.
They’re as easily scared as any normal person and worry about commonplace things–a paycheck, a roof over their heads, that their friends are protected. But even though they’re out of their comfort zone with live action research rather than dusty tome research, they follow their noses. And are transformed by their discoveries in the end.
Hi 🙂
Just visiting some blogs on the A-Z list 😉
I LOVE the way you’re using the challenge to give info about your book! Good luck with the challenge and the book hon.

Fellow challenger stopping by. I love your choice for letter “H” and what yours are. These kind of heroes are just as important (if not more so) than the others. It’s their work that saves someone from disease or helps them walk again.
I like quiet heroes too. I also find the heroes on my life are those who dont think they are heroic, and often the quiet, humble ones too. Nice to be in the A to Z with you!
